Fuel Data Drive For Food Transport Sector

COLOMBO(News 1st); The Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Co-operative Development has taken steps to begin a data collection program on the fuel needs of the wholesale distribution and transport sector.

The Ministry said the data is being collected to accurately identify the fuel needs of transport service providers involved in food distribution and to improve planning in the sector, considering the situation in the country due to the impact of the global war.

Only transport service providers who are not registered with any other ministry or official government system related to transport or supply operations will be included in the data system.

The data collection is based on information provided voluntarily, and the information gathered will be analyzed and submitted as recommendations to the Ministry of Energy and the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
