FOREIGN MEDIA: U.S. President Donald Trump announced via social media that Iran and Israel have agreed to a full ceasefire following recent escalations in the Middle East.
In his post, President Trump stated that the ceasefire would take effect in stages, with the initial phase requiring both nations to end all hostilities within six hours of the announcement.
The message began with the greeting: “CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!”
He went on to state, "It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World."
Trump emphasized that during each stage of the ceasefire, both countries must treat each other with peace and mutual respect.
He added, "On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, “THE 12 DAY WAR.” This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will!"
He concluded his message with a blessing: “God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!”
Meanwhile, foreign media reported that Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani had a phone conversation with Iranian officials, during which he confirmed Iran's agreement to the ceasefire.
This came after President Trump personally informed the Qatari Prime Minister that Israel had accepted the ceasefire and requested his assistance in securing Iran’s commitment.
However, foreign reports indicate that no official confirmation has yet been issued by either Iran or Israel regarding the ceasefire agreement.
