Public Urged To Exercise Caution As Firework Related Accidents Increase

COLOMBO (News 1st): Health authorities report a noticeable increase in fireworks-related accidents during the New Year season.

Dr. Samitha Sirithunga, Community Consultant and Head of the Accident Prevention Unit at the Ministry of Health’s Non-Communicable Disease Bureau, advises the public to exercise extreme caution when using fireworks during the festive period.

Dr. Sirithunga further emphasizes that when using fireworks, individuals should also be mindful of the safety and well-being of their pets and other animals.
