COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has decided to reduce the duration of planned water supply disruptions to 12 hours.
According to NWSDB supply of water to Homagama will be suspended today from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The Chairman of NWSDB Chandana Bandara, stated that the current water management plan will remain in effect until the 10th of this month.
He further noted that if the dry weather persists with no rainfall, another plan to manage supply of water will be introduced after the 15th of this month.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of NWSDB informed that a 3-hour water cut will continue every other day from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM in Pamankada, Battaramulla, Wellawatte and Nawala.
The decision was made to ensure the most efficient distribution of water as levels in the Labugama and Kalatuwawa reservoirs are rapidly receding.
