Drunk Driving Checks Stepped Up Ahead of Festive Season

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police have intensified operations to detect drunk drivers, as road traffic increases during the Christmas and New Year period.

Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Traffic Management and Road Safety Division, W. P. J. Senadheera, said instructions have been issued to traffic officers across all police divisions to strengthen enforcement.

He added that the move aims to ensure road safety during the festive season and the start of the New Year.
