The Government Medical Officers' Association will resume its strike action from 8 a.m. today, citing concerns over the ongoing transfer process.

GMOA Secretary, Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa, said that the strike is being carried out across hospitals islandwide.

Meanwhile, Health Ministry Secretary, Dr. Anil Jasinghe, said authorities remain open to discussions if requested by the GMOA, but emphasized that he cannot make assurances beyond his mandate.

The GMOA had earlier staged a token strike last Tuesday over the same issue.
