COLOMBO (News 1st); Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa announced that a structured program is already in place to address the shortage of hospital staff across the country.
He made this statement while inaugurating a newly built healthcare facility at the Darga Town Regional Hospital, constructed with assistance from the Chinese government.
The new three-story complex, built at a cost of Rs. 300 million, falls under the administration of the Kalutara National Institute of Health Sciences.
It features a four-bed emergency treatment unit, a 96-bed maternal and pediatric ward, and a fully equipped outpatient department.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Yan Tang, an advisor from the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka.
