JETRO Forum: Sri Lanka Unveils Big Opportunities for Japanese Businesses

COLOMBO (News 1st); President Anura Kumara Dissanayake extended an open invitation to Japan’s business community to explore emerging economic opportunities in Sri Lanka, pledging to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties while encouraging robust private sector participation.

The President made these remarks at the Japan–Sri Lanka Business Forum,  at the headquarters of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Tokyo.

The event drew nearly 200 senior Japanese business leaders and was jointly organized by JETRO, Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan, the Japan–Sri Lanka Business Cooperation Committee, and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI).

On the sidelines, President Dissanayake met with JETRO Chairman Norihiko Ishiguro, who pledged to act as a bridge between the two business communities to foster continuous engagement and mutually beneficial partnerships.
