COLOMBO (News 1st); President Anura Kumara Dissanayake met with Japanese Defence Minister D.M. Nakatani at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo for discussions.
Talks cantered on the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Japan, regional security and ways to further strengthen existing cooperation on defence and security matters.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is on an official visit to Japan at the invitation of the Japanese government, also held bilateral discussions with Japanese Minister of Finance Kato Katsunobu.
The talks focused on strengthening trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two countries, with particular emphasis on on-going and upcoming projects supported through Japanese aid /JICA assistance.
