Burglary Suspect Wanted for 9 Crimes Arrested in Welikada

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 27-year-old suspect wanted in connection with nine separate burglary cases was arrested in the Welikada area.

The arrest was made by officers from the Western Province - South - Crimes Division, acting on a tip-off. 

The suspect, a resident of Colombo 08, was reportedly involved in a series of nighttime break-ins that occurred on June 17 and 18 within the Welikada Police Division.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had targeted multiple residences during the two-day period, stealing various valuables.

In a related development, police also apprehended two additional individuals — a male and a female — in possession of stolen property. They were arrested in Welikada on charges of retaining stolen goods.
