CID Probe Targets Former President Ranil's Delegation

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has decided to obtain statements from two senior officials who served under former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, in connection with an investigation into a foreign visit made during his tenure.

According to police sources, the inquiry pertains to activities surrounding an overseas trip undertaken by Wickremesinghe while he held the office of President.

The two officials in question are currently overseas, prompting the CID to request assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate their return to Sri Lanka for questioning.
