Sri Lanka to Open High Commission in Wellington

COLOMBO (News 1st); In a move aiming to strengthen diplomatic relations, the Sri Lankan government has approved plans to establish a High Commission in Wellington, New Zealand. 

This decision, announced by the Department of Government Information follows a proposal submitted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The opening of the High Commission also coincides with the recent establishment of a New Zealand High Commission in Colombo in 2021. 

No specific timeframe for the establishment of the High Commission has been announced yet.
