34-Year-Old Arrested Over Attempted Murder

COLOMBO (News 1st); A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with an attempted shooting near Dehiwala Railway Station, the police said.

Following investigations by the Crimes Investigation Unit of Mount Lavinia Division, the 34-year-old suspect, a resident of Seevali Road was arrested yesterday.

Police discovered 50 grams of ice (methamphetamine), five knives, and a machete during the arrest.

The incident relates to a July 18 attack near Dehiwala Railway Station, where two unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire, causing severe injuries to an individual.
