Ella-Wellawaya Road to be Stabilized, Colombo-Kandy Road Faces Closure for Rock Removal

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) says that engineering technical plans are underway to stabilize the Maliththagolla landslide on the Ella - Wellawaya road.

Senior Geologist of NBRO, Laksiri Indrathilaka said that the work in relation to it is expected to start in a few days and that he engaged in research activities at the site yesterday as well.

Meanwhile, the NBRO says that the Colombo-Kandy main road will be closed from Kadugannawa for two hours, tomorrow to remove the remove hazardous rocks in the upper part of the road.

The closure time will be confirmed by the NBRO later.
