School Text Books to be issued from Thursday

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Education said school text books will be provided from Thursday (23).

The Ministry said the second phase of the program to provide school uniforms will also commence on Thursday (23). 

The Education Ministry said uniforms will be provided to 4.1 million school children and student monks.

The Ministry has made plans to complete the distribution of school text books and uniforms before the April holidays.

Material for school uniforms were provided to 70% of students under the first phase of this program, with material donated by the Chinese government.
