COLOMBO (News 1st) – Unit 3 of the Norochcholai power plant, which broke down recently, has been fixed and reconnected back to the National grid, says the Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara.

The Minister said that both units are now operating at full capacity.

Moreover, he stated that the ongoing long routine overhaul maintenance work on Unit 2 is expected to be completed by mid-October.

The Norochcholai power plant recently had its generator 3 break down, leading for only 300MW of 900MW being generated.
