Amendment to Assets And Liabilities Law

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Justice has decided to amend the laws regarding the Assets and Liability Declaration of politicians.

Minister of Justice and Constitutional Reforms Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, PC said a new draft bill with amendments will be presented to make the process more transparent. 

He added that new laws are being drafted to replace the existing Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, with a new commission with more powers.

Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe said the new commission will be introduced in accordance with the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
