COLOMBO (News 1st); The circular limiting the summoning of Government employees to work, has been extended by another month.

A new circular has been issued in this regard under the signature of the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs, M.M.P.K. Mayadunna.

The circular states that the decision was reached taking into account the difficulties faced by Government officials in reporting to work, however that it must be ensured that a situation of non-reporting to work does not arise due to misuse of the circulars issued.

This does not prevent the summoning of staff required to maintain essential public services for duties which cannot be performed online.
