COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) says that there is a risk of Sri Lanka's health sector collapsing.

Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe, the spokesperson for the GMOA said that health workers are facing serious issues in accessing transport to report to work due to the shortage of fuel.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Health Janaka Sri Chandragupta says that steps have been taken to discuss this matter with the Ministry of Power and Energy.

The secretary further said that at present only essential services are being carried out in the hospitals.
