HRCSL instructs Energy Ministry, CPC & PUCSL to resolve fuel crisis

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has summoned officials of the Ministry of Energy, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka to inquire into solutions taken at the institutional level to resolve the crisis with regard to the fuel and gas shortages, and queues.

Accordingly, additional Secretary of the Ministry, Chaminda Hettiarachchi, Chairman of the CPC Sumith Wijesinghe and the Chairman of the PUCSL, Janaka Rathnayaka were summoned before the HRCSL.

The HRCSL has instructed officials to take steps to curb the issues faced by the people in their daily lives due to the fuel shortage and queues, and further instructed to expedite the steps taken to resolve the issues while considering it as an emergency.
