India is providing all possible support to SL: Modi

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi states that India is providing all possible support to Sri Lanka.

Mentioning that Sri Lanka is passing through difficult times, the Prime Minister said that as a closed friend and neighbor, India is providing support, which includes financial support, support of fuel, food, medicines and other essential items.

Further stating that many Indian organizations and individuals have sent assistance to Sri Lanka, the PM said that India has also spoken strongly in international forums for extending economic support to Sri Lanka.

"India will continue stand with the people of Sri Lanka and support democracy stability and economic recovery in Sri Lanka," he added.

He is currently engaged in a visit to Tamil Nadu, and mentions that Sri Lanka is passing through difficult times.
