COLOMBO (News 1st); The Fuel Distributors' Association (FDA) said that about 20 filling stations will have to be closed due to the current situation in the country.

The Chairman of the Fuel Distributors' Association W.S.S Fernando said the country is facing a very serious situation and distributors are facing serious issues in operating.

He further said at present five filling stations have been closed in Hambantota, Maradankadawala, Kekirawa, Kadirana, and Akuressa.

A request has been made to the Ministry of Defense to provide full security to all filling stations 24-hours a day but many filling stations have NOT YET received that protection, he said.
