COLOMBO (News 1st); The total number of arrested persons for the violent incidents which took place on 9th and 10th May is 1,348, says the Police Spokesperson, SSP Nihal Thalduwa.

Issuing a statement, the Police Spokesperson said that 128 suspects were arrested yesterday (20), while 99 have been granted bail after being produced before the Court, and 68 have been remanded.

The total number of arrestees in relation to the incident is 1,348, while 654 have been granted bail, he said.

SSP Thalduwa further mentioned that 638 in total have been remanded with regard to the incidents as well. Moreover, 836 complaints have been received by the Police, and steps are being taken to conduct further investigations by the CID.
