2084 naval personnel promoted on 13th Victory Day anniversary

COLOMBO (News 1st);  Coinciding with the 13th Victory Day anniversary, 74 Navy officers and 2010 sailors have been promoted / advanced to their next higher ranks / rates by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, with the approval of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the President.

The unflagging courage and dignity of tri-service and Police War Heroes, who selflessly contributed to the success story, played a prominent role in bringing lasting peace and establishing the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the motherland.

Incidentally, 09 senior officers and 65 junior officers have been promoted to their next senior rank on this momentous occasion. In addition, 2010 junior and senior sailors of different rates in both Regular and Volunteer forces have also been advanced to their subsequent rates with the approval of Commander of the Navy.
