COLOMBO (News 1st); The Parliament is scheduled to convene on Thursday (5).
The current situation in the country and discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be discussed in Parliament today (5).
In addition, Parliament will be focused on selecting a suitable candidate for the post of Deputy Speaker.
It is reported that the Government-Independent group of Parliamentarians is preparing to nominate former Deputy Speaker Ranjith Siyambalapitiya for the post of Deputy Speaker.
Meanwhile, the Bank of Ceylon has been summoned to the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) today.
Accordingly, The Chairman of COPE Prof. Charitha Herath is scheduled to present a special report on the Litro Gas and the leasing of 21 aircraft by SriLankan Airlines to Parliament today.
