Breakdown in Norochcholai Power Plant; CEB

COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara has said that a technical breakdown was experienced in one of the 270MW generators in the Norochcholai Power Plant on Tuesday (3).

He said the Ceylon Electricity Board commenced repair work and assured that they will reconnect the failed generator within 5 days and that the management of power cuts will be done by using thermal and hydro plants.
