Pope asks Sri Lanka to reveal truth on Easter Attacks

COLOMBO (News 1st); His Holiness Pope Francis urged Sri Lankan authorities on Monday (25) to reveal who was behind the country's 2019 Easter Sunday bombings.

His holiness met with a delegation of families of over 60 victims of the Easter Sunday attacks, and his comments asked Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's administration to reveal the truth.

The pope also said he prayed that Sri Lanka will also be able to ride out the worst economic crisis in its history.

The head of Sri Lanka's Catholic Church, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, who conducted mass at St. Peter's basilica just before meeting with the pope on Monday, called for "justice and change" in the island nation.
