Tri-Forces assistance sought to aid Police when necessary: Public Defense Ministry

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Public Security has requested the Ministry of Defense for assistance from the Tri-Forces in aiding the police when necessary, considering the current situation in the country.

Retired Maj. Gen. Jagath de Alwis, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Defense, called on all parties to carry out protests peacefully.

Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security stated that additional police teams have been deployed in Colombo and adjoining areas today (09) to control traffic.
