COLOMBO (News 1st); There appears to be NO END to fuel queues across Sri Lanka, as people continue to wait at filling stations for Diesel, and Petrol.
According to News 1st correspondents fuel queues at almost every filling station that was open, while other filling stations were close after running out of fuel stocks.
Fuel queues were experienced on Wednesday (30) as well, especially for Diesel.
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has requested the general public NOT to remain in queues at filling stations for Diesel on Wednesday (30) & Thursday (31).
CPC Chairman said that the ship carrying 37,500 MT of diesel was unable to unload on Tuesday (29) as planned.
However, diesel will be supplied continuously to essential services
He also added that the distribution of Petrol will proceed as usual without any shortages.
