1,000 containers with essentials at port

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Association of Importers of Essential Commodities announced that there are about a thousand containers of rice, sugar, dhal, and chilli held in the Port of Colombo.

The spokesman of the Association of Importers of Essential Commodities, Nihal Seneviratne stated that steps will be taken to release them soon.

However, he noted that the dollar crisis has severely affected imports, especially with regard to maintaining stocks for the upcoming April holidays.
