COLOMBO (News 1st); The city development plans expected to be implemented in several major cities were presented to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (10).

The President’s Media Division stated that these development goals were planned in collaboration with the Urban Development Authority and other authorities in order to attract local and foreign tourists.

Under the first phase, Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs) will be developed in Galle, Bandarawela, Ratnapura, Thimbirigasyaya, Fort, Pettah and Colpetty.

The President’s Media Division states that the new plan includes attractive features with all facilities, including wide roads, parking facilities, sidewalks, shopping malls, solar powered lighting systems while prioritizing the green city concept.

The President emphasized that historical sites in the vicinity of the relevant development zones as well as the old buildings should be preserved in the implementation of said plans.
