COLOMBO (News 1st); Leader of the House Minister Dinesh Gunawardena has thanked Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for highlighting the fact that power cuts are severely affecting the students sitting for the G. C. E. Advanced Level Examination.
MP Wickremesinghe told Parliament on Wednesday (23) that the scheduled power cuts are having an impact on the students, and urged the government to suspect power cuts until the examinations are over.
Minister Gunawardene said the relevant stakeholders have held discussions and would be making attempts to change the situation for the benefit of the students.
