Dengue on the rise, Over 9,000 cases in 2022

COLOMBO (News 1st); The number of Dengue patients reported so far this year alone has risen to 9809.

Community medicine specialist, Anoja Weerasinghe, at the National Dengue Control Unit, said that between 40 and 45 percent of waste materials contribute to the spread of dengue.

She said construction sites, schools and business establishments are considered as high risk dozes for the spread of dengue.
