People already in dire straits, says Sajith

'Will NOT support any attempt to bring hardship to the people' - Sajith

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa on Thursday (10) slammed the Government with regard to its inability to Govern.

"We only have reserves amount to the value of three weeks of imports," said Premadasa on the present economic situation in his address to Parliament, adding that the government oblivious to the reality.

Speaking in Parliament during the debate, the Opposition Leader said that the incompetent, power-hungry, stubborn, and inflexible administration of the governing elite has led to Countrywide depression in all its facets.

"We see darkness. We see destitution, and we see the loss of hope," said the Opposition Leader adding that there is deep-seated resentment among the people of the country with regard to the present system of governance and its consequences and repercussions.

The Opposition Leader also said that the opposition will in no way support any attempt or any step to bring hardship on the people of the country who are already in dire straits.
