Katchatheevu festival open for Indian devotees

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda has assured that necessary arrangements will be made for Indian devotees to attend the Katchatheevu festival.

The Ministry issuing a statement said Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda held discussions with a senior leader of the DMK party regarding the participation of Indian devotees in the Katchatheevu festival.

On Saturday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin urged the Indian Central Government to lift restrictions imposed by Sri Lankan authorities on Indian fishermen visiting the Katchatheevu festival due to the COVID-19 situation.
