COLOMBO (News 1st); The President, Prime Minister and the Government are facing challenges without an issue, says the Minister of Highways, Johnston Fernando.
Speaking on the current state of the economy, the Minister acknowledged that there are indeed many issues, and solutions must be provided to them, however noted that different problems arise in different situations.
Pointing out that when the COVID-19 pandemic arose, nobody spoke of power outages and fuel, the Minister stated that the Government and the public both were more focused on the eradication of the pandemic at the time.
While emphasizing that the gas crisis, queues for milk powder and electricity crisis are challenges, Minister Johnston Fernando stated that the Government will face them without shying away from such risks.
“We will face these challenges and overcome them. That is why the people have elected a President. He will face those challenges well.” he added.
