NO charge on ambulances using expressway

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Highways Minister Johnston Fernando said that all ambulances will be permitted to use the expressways free of charge with immediate effect.

Accordingly, ambulances of the State or attached to Private Hospitals will no longer be charged when using the expressway.

A toll was levied from every ambulance using the expressways but following the COVID-19 outbreak, they were exempted from paying the toll from May 20 until further notice.
