Vaccination program of children begins in Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st); The program to vaccinate school children against COVID-19 commenced in the Colombo District today (15). L.M.D. Dharmasena, Additional Secretary for School Affairs, Ministry of Education said that students sitting for the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination will be vaccinated from today as the first phase of the program. The vaccination program is currently being carried out at four schools, which include Vishakha Vidyalaya, Thurstan College, Vivekananda Vidyalaya, and St. Benedict's College. Moreover, it is also being carried out in several other centers in Homagama, Piliyandala and Sri Jayawardenapura as well. A single dose of the Pfizer vaccine is being used to vaccinate children.
