COLOMBO (News 1st): It has been decided to obtain recommendations of a committee before constructing jogging tracks around Wewas, Director General of the Department of Irrigation Nihal Siriwardena says.

Accordingly, a technical committee will study and approve such constructions only with the consent of all parties involved in the construction process.

He also mentioned that the construction of the jogging tracks near the Parakrama Samudra has been suspended, along with the proposed jogging tracks near Kantale Wewa.

Director General of Irrigation Nihal Siriwardena emphasized that it has been decided to take into consideration the consent of the involved parties before any construction takes place.
