Dr. Renuka Jayatissa said that it is important to include vitamin C in persons' diet and to be exposed to the sun for at least half an hour a day to get vitamin D. In addition, it is also very important to drink water regularly, especially hot water, she said. She also elaborated about food that can be given to the patients who are being treated in the hospital for the disease. She pointed out that patients with coronavirus who are being treated in hospital should be given soft foods that improve appetite and facilitate digestion, especially if they have difficulty breathing and loss of appetite, such as soup and porridge. It is also best for patients with COVID-19 to have a very small snack or drink fluids once every hour.
