COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) says that all employees of the SLTB should report to work as usual from tomorrow (09).
Chairman of SLTB, Kingsley Ranawaka said that all employees of the SLTB should report to work as usual and that the circular issued recently does not apply to essential services.
Ranawaka further stated that measures have been taken to ensure that operations of the buses are conducted in adherence with health guidelines as usual from tomorrow (09).
Accordingly, operations of inter-provincial buses will be limited and about 4,500 buses will remain operational within the Provincial borders.
In addition, a limited number of inter-provincial buses will remain in operation in order to facilitate people to report to work in Colombo.
Moreover, the Chairman of the SLTB, Kingsley Ranawaka advised bus conductors that transporting commuters beyond the seating capacity is strictly forbidden.
