COLOMBO (News1st): Tilvin Silva, the general secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, has questioned the government’s failure to probe the arrival of a ship carrying radioactive material.
“If radioactive material is being brought to our country, then we must be kept informed about that. But the country was not informed about that,” Silva said during a media briefing.
He pointed out that the government had not taken action over this matter as well.
“China has already shown us that they are acting without giving any consideration to the country’s law. They have proven that they can bring radioactive material that is used in nuclear weapons,” he said.
Silva accused the government of being subservient to China as well.
