COLOMBO (News1st): The resolution against Sri Lanka had been adopted in the UN Human Rights Council due to the weaknesses in the present administration, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has said. In a statement, the SJB identified the weaknesses as the absence of a foreign policy, and the government's failure to protect human rights and democracy. "Asian countries such as India, Japan and South Korea have consistently voted in favour of us in the past. Why did not these countries vote in favour of us?," Nalin Bandara, an SJB lawmaker said. He observed that countries such as India and Japan that are believed to have close ties with Sri Lanka had not voted against the resolution in the country.
