State Minister of Covid-19 Disease Control Sudarshani Fernandopulle said that the Covid-19 vaccine manufactured in India will be given to those in the frontline in the fight against COVID-19 from next week. Speaking to News 1st, the state minister said, trials for the COVID-19 Inoculation program were conducted today. State Minister Sudarshani Fernandopulle said the inoculation program will begin after the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute is brought to Sri Lanka this Wednesday. She added that within the next week, those in the health sector, the tri forces and the police will be inoculated along with other frontline workers. Trials of the COVID-19 inoculation program were conducted today at three locations. The trials were held at the Office of the Piliyandala Medical Officer of Health, the Regional Hospital and the Ragama Teaching Hospital.
