COLOMBO (News 1st): The government has taken steps to conduct COVID-19 tests at crowded places, such as markets located across the country, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva, the Head of the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.
According to the Army Commander, these tests will be carried out at places where crowds gather, such as markets, fish stalls, and other public places.
COVID-19 tests conducted at the exit points of the Western province on people leaving the province will also continue, General Shavendra Silva further added.
A COVID-19 vaccine will definitely be brought to the country by February, said the Army Commander adding that the Sri Lanka Army is currently in the process of preparing the required facilities for the vaccination process.
