UGC GRANTS PERMISSION TO CONDUCT SELECTED COURSES

COLOMBO (News 1st): Permission has been granted to conduct the most essential courses at universities on the condition students will stay at the university premises, the University Grants Commission (UGC) said. Permission will be granted taking into account a request made by the Universities, where the respective courses must be prepared in strict adherence to COVID-19 health regulations, Prof. Sampath Amarathunga, the Chairman of the University Grants Commission said on Tuesday (Jan. 12). Prof. Amarathunga further noted that clinical activities at hospitals of the medical faculties at all universities are continuing. According to Prof. Amarathunga, 4 million online lectures were conducted in the month of December alone, covering all universities.
