Colombo (News 1st); An individual who had completed the quarantine process and was traveling in Puttlam was found dead on the side of the road close to the Puttlam Samagi Grounds on Thursday (05) evening.
The deceased was subject to a 14-day quarantine as a COVID-19 infected person had visited a hotel in Hettipola, where he was employed at.
The coroner who visited the site to conduct an inspection faced uncomfortable situations as he was not provided with any protective clothing.
A face mask was provided to him at the site and he raised serious concerns citing the government spends a lot of money on unnecessary matters, rather than spending money to protect those serving the country.
The body of the deceased was moved to the Puttlam Base Hospital to determine if he was exposed to COVID-19 and to perform the postmortem examination.
