Indictments handed over to Ex-Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka

Colombo (News 1st); Indictments were handed over to Ex-Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka on Wednesday (21) at the Colombo High Court in the presence of Colombo High Court Judge Dhammika Ganepola.

The Attorney General filed a case against the Former Minister for causing grievous injury to a person by rash & negligent driving on the 28th of February 2016 in Rajagiriya as well as failing to report the accident to police following the incident.

The High Court Judge ordered the evidence examined in the case to commence on the 04th of March 2021 and the accused was ordered to be released on two personal bails of Rs. 100,000/- each and a fine of Rs. 10,000/-.

Summons were issued on five witnesses from the prosecution to be present in court on the 04th of March 2021.
