Colombo (News 1st); A majority of the 2100 COVID-19 cases reported in recent weeks are asymptomatic, warned the Government Medical Officers Association on Monday (19).
General Secretary of the GMOA Dr. Haritha Aluthge speaking to reporters said the situation at hand is more complex than the first COVID-19 wave in Sri Lanka.
He proposed for the COVID-19 patients to be separated into three groups.
01. Asymptomatic Patients
02. Patients with minor symptoms
03. Patients with health issues.
He said if the COVID-19 cases are separated into the above three groups, authorities will only have to administer three levels of treatment and the issues surrounding hospital capacity will be solved.
