(News 1st): The Gammadda Door to Door teams toured many areas in Galle, Matara, Anuradhapura, and Mannar Districts today. Although the Wannakulama Wewa in Galenbindunuwewa Anuradhapura is in an inutile state, officials still have not paid attention to it. By now, the Wewa is covered in foliage and sludge. Villagers claim that there are 200 acres of land which are sustained through this Wewa. All 200 acres are used during both Yala and Maha seasons, according to villagers. The Wewa has not been cleaned in nearly 40 years. ********** Gammadda teams touring the Galle District visited several houses in several villages situated in Nagoda today. The road spanning from Nagoda to Kandeketiya is currently in a dilapidated state. Villagers confided that if a 300m path of this road is constructed, life would be much easier for them. Villagers of Gammadegoda, Nagoda utilize the Wijayaba Primary School ground to engage in various sports including volleyball. However, they do not have a proper volleyball net either. Haystacks are also stored in this ground. This village suffers from yet another issue. Although the Ging River flows beside this village, the people do not have clean drinking water. A water project has been commenced but it has been abandoned halfway. ********** The Gammadda team in Mannar toured the areas of Thullikudairippu, Nawakkuda, Vetrimankudairippu, Kawayankatti, and Karayankudiiruppi. Most of these villages suffer from a lack of roadways and clean drinking water.
